espanolLa Real Compania de Filipinas recibio en 1785 la exclusiva del comercio directo con Filipinas y el resto de Asia desde Espana y America del Sur con escala obligada en Manila. Mas tarde, una R.O. de 1793 le permitio el comercio directo desde Manila al Peru. En 1799, las necesidades de la Real Compania y la demanda de Lima propiciaron el armamento de la fragata San Francisco Javier (a) El Filipino, que alcanzaria El Callao en febrero de 1800. Ahora bien, dada la parquedad de la informacion manejada hasta ahora, parece oportuno aportar los nuevos datos que poseemos acerca de la expedicion, a partir de los registros de llegada al Callao que contenian los manifiestos de Manila y de los registros de partida del Callao. Y por su novedad, hemos transcrito integros los manifiestos de Manila en un apendice, bajo el epigrafe «Registro de la fragata San Francisco Xavier (a) El Filipino. Manifiestos en Manila de la carga para El Callao, junio-julio 1799», lo que nos ha permitido ofrecer una vision detallada de las remesas asiaticas. EnglishThe Real Compania de Filipinas got in 1785 the sole right to direct trade with the Philippines and the rest of Asia. Later, in 1793, a royal order authorized it the direct trade from Manila to Peru. In 1799, the needs of the Real Compania, together with the demand coming from Lima, favoured the fitting-out of the frigate San Francisco Javier(a) El Filipino, that reached El Callao in February 1800. Now then, due to the scarcity of data at our disposal so far, it seems convenient to bring forward the new data about the expedition, found in the registers of the arrival to El Callao (including the manifestos from Manila) and of the registers of departure from El Callao. And, due to its novelty, we have wholly transcribed the manifestos from Manila in an appendix under the title «Registro de la fragata San Francisco Xavier (a) El Filipino. Manifiestos en Manila de la carga para El Callao, junio-julio 1799». What has allowed us to offer a detailed view of the Asiatic shipments arrived to the main Peruvian port.
